What we build

Four kinds of work, each scoped in writing before it starts. If your project sits between two of them, that’s normal. Tell us about it.

Kitchens and living spaces

Opening walls, reworking layouts and fitting new cabinetry so the rooms you use most work the way you live.

Usually involves
Layout drawings, structural changes where needed, trades coordination, finishing

Additions and suites

Extra bedrooms, home offices and secondary suites framed to match the house you already have.

Usually involves
Drawings for permit, foundations, framing, envelope, interior finishing

Finish carpentry and built-ins

Trim, panelling, shelving, window seats and stairs, built on site to fit the walls as they really are.

Usually involves
Site measuring, material selection, shop and site work, finishing

Decks and outdoor rooms

Cedar decks, covered patios and stairs designed for coastal weather and the view you bought the house for.

Usually involves
Layout and footings, framing, decking, railings and stairs

How a project runs

Five steps, in this order, on every job. You always know which one you’re in.

  1. 1

    Site visit

We walk the space with you, measure it and talk through what you want to change.

  2. 2

    Drawings and scope

You get a measured plan and a written scope listing what’s included and what isn’t.

  3. 3

    Estimate and schedule

A fixed estimate for the agreed scope, with a start date and the order of trades.

  4. 4

    Build

One lead carpenter on site, a weekly update, and any change priced before it’s made.

  5. 5

    Walkthrough

We go room by room with you, fix the punch list and hand over care notes for the materials.

Sketch your room

Pick the space and its rough size. We’ll draw it up and turn it into a brief you can bring to a site visit. Nothing is sent from this page.

    Materials we reach for

Island timber where it makes sense, chosen for how it weathers here rather than how it looks in a showroom.

    Western red cedar

Decks, siding and outdoor rooms. Light, stable and naturally rot-resistant in wet winters.

    Douglas fir

Exposed beams, stairs and framing. Strong, straight-grained and warm once finished.

    White oak

Floors, treads and built-ins that take daily wear. Finished with hard-wax oil you can touch up.

    What clients say

On a real site, verified Google reviews sit here, pulled in with the reviewer’s name and date.

This concept is a fictional business, so it shows no reviews rather than invented ones.

    Questions people ask first

    Do you handle permits?

For work that needs one, we prepare the drawings and apply on your behalf, and the permit timeline is built into the schedule you receive.

Can we live in the house during the work?

Usually, yes. We plan the order of work so you keep a working kitchen or bathroom as long as possible and seal off dusty areas daily.

What happens if something unexpected turns up behind a wall?

We stop, show you, and price the fix in writing. Nothing outside the agreed scope goes ahead without your sign-off.

Which areas do you work in?

Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland and Campbell River, and nearby communities on request.

    Book a site visit

Send your brief from the planner and pick a morning that suits you. On a live site this request goes straight to the owner’s inbox.
